Victor De Jesus '09-'11

Victor De Jesus attended Iowa Lakes Community College from 2009-2011.  He will be going into the Hall of Fame for Wrestling.

Although attending Iowa Lakes was a last minute decision for Victor, he got a call after graduation and knew someone else who was attending, so he decided to go along.

While wrestling at Iowa Lakes Victor was a 2 time NJCAA national champion at 149lbs, making him the 1st national champion in Iowa Lakes history.  He amassed a 44-8 record before going on to wrestle at Division I Arizona State University.

When asked about Victor, Coach Eustice had this to say, “I will always have fond memories of Victor. Obviously, he was super talented but I admired how he thrived in competition and his love for the sport of wrestling.  It’s special that Victor was Iowa Lakes first National Champion; I see many more in the future for the Lakers and Vic helped pave the way.”

Victor appreciated the support of many people at Iowa Lakes, especially Julie Williams, Sarah Stokes, Troy Larson, coaches Ty Eustice, and Corey Vangroll.  Having the support of staff and teammates cheering for him as he won his first national title in Des Moines stands out among the memories of his time at Iowa Lakes.

After attending Arizona State University, Victor now lives and works in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Victor especially wanted to thank his mother Rosa and 2 sisters who supported him throughout his whole athletic career and continue to push him to do better.

Congratulations Victor De Jesus on being inducted into the Iowa Lakes Hall of Fame.
