Reivers Shutout Lakers in Midweek Double Header

The Iowa Lakes Lakers Traveled to Council Bluffs to take on #10 Iowa Western. In game one, the Iowa Western pitching staff kept the Lakers bats in check as they would strikeout ten batters and only allow 3 hits. The Reivers would take advantage of some Lakers mistakes and come up with timely hitting to put 8 runs up on the board and win game one by a score of 8-0.

Jacob Buffington (Bogart, Georgia) would get the start and go 2 innings giving up 0 runs. Austen Charboneau (Idaho Falls, Idaho) went 3 innings allowing 3 runs only 2 earned. Jacob Myer (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) went 2/3 inning allowing 5 runs only 2 earned and Kade Delcambre (Lake Charles, Louisiana) finished the game going 1/3 of an inning giving up 0 runs.

Game two of the double header was the same story, Iowa Western kept the Lakers offense in check by striking out 10 again and allowing 3 hits. The Lakes offense showed some when Spencer Keane (Palm Springs, California) reached first base on a single and next batter later Alex Pavon (Bellevue, Nebraska) roped a ball to right field to put runners on first and third. Chipper Holland (Tampa, Florida) would come up with a runner on third but would hit a line drive back at the pitcher who knocked it down and threw Holland out and first. Iowa Western scored three runs of their own and that is all they would need and would win game two 3-0 and earn the sweep.

Tomas Pinet (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) pitched 6 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out two Reiver Batters in his innings of work.
